Check Us Out
We would love nothing more than to have you come check us out on a Sunday morning. However, we know how intimidating it can be to walk into a new church not knowing what to expect. So, take a look around our website and feel free to contact us with any questions you might have.
Our Sunday morning services are very casual and interactive. Please do not dress up! Every Sunday, we transform the gymnasium at the East Butler YMCA into our "sanctuary". We start with a few songs by our Nexus band. Following the music, the children go up front for a Children’s Message. After the Childrens’ Message, the children are dismissed to Early Explorers, our children’s spiritual education. The children rejoin us before communion. Next, we bring out concerns and joys to each other in corporate prayer. Our pastor leads us in voicing our prayers before God and each other. After the scripture reading, Pastor Mike delivers a short, usually highly interactive sermon. Mike might put on a short skit (with or without participation from the congregation), give us a pop quiz or use photographs, poetry or movie clips during the time of the sermon. After the sermon, we have a "talk back" period where the congregation is free to give their feedback on the sermon, asking questions or bringing different points of view to light.
The first Sunday of the month, we share communion with each other. Communion is freely given to all who desire to take it. We believe the only barriers between you and God are barriers you erect yourself. Also, on the first Sunday of the month, we share a potluck meal after the celebration. Feel free to join us, even if you have not brought a dish. We've never run short of food yet.
Leave Your Wallet at Home
As our guest, you are asked to sit back and enjoy the fellowship. We do not ask for money from visitors. We do not pass a collection plate. And will not ask you to fill up your calendar with church activities. So, please, come and check us out.
